5 quick & easy tips to refreshing your space

Homes are more than shelter and a roof over our heads, they’re our safe place and the place where we make memories with the ones we love the most. So when your home is working so hard for you, why not give it a little refresh so that you can fall in love with it all over again?

I’m a firm believer that our space sets the tone for our mood, impacts our productivity, and contributes to our overall happiness. No matter if you live in your forever home or just your “right now” home, I want to help you make it a home you love living in!

It’s time to create a space that makes you want to be the best version of yourself! Here are my 5 tips to refresh your space without a full-scale renovation:

1. Purge

Clear the clutter. Ask yourself, do you love it? Does it serve a purpose? Do you have multiples?

Don’t fall into the trap of believing that because something takes up a small amount of physical space it should stay. All those little things add up. They take up physical space in your room and your mind! So let it go!

"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful. Or believe to be beautiful." - William Morris

2. Rearrange furniture

Get a sidekick and start moving. Pull that furniture away from the walls and let them breathe.

Add a console table behind your sofa. Create a new conversation area with an accent chair or pair of ottomans.

The options are endless! Little changes can drastically improve the flow and coziness of a room.

3. Shop your house

Now that you’ve changed up your layout, chances are you have some new opportunities to accessorize.

You don’t need to head out of the house just yet, use what you have! Swipe some books from the office, a tray, and a pitcher from the kitchen. Then head outdoors and clip a few branches from the yard to create a little coffee table moment that’s fresh and new.

4. Refresh fabrics

You don't need to start from scratch! There are so many new patterns and prints available every season! Rotate in one new print that coordinates with your current color scheme, and see the room instantly change.

Simply adding that extra pop of pattern will be enough to trick your eye into seeing change, and making it all feel refreshed!

“I’m a pillow addict by nature. I’d line our sofa with countless patterned pillows if I could. My kids love this addiction of mine especially when it comes time for fort building!” - Jocelyn!!

5. Change the scenery

Move your artwork and photographs to a new location!

As the seasons change so does the light and how you use your home. Get a fresh perspective and move your most beloved prints and photos to the room you spend the most time in.

It's often the little changes that make the biggest difference! I hope these 5 tips help you refresh your space and keep you loving your home.
